Localization – AI Style
Unveiling AI Style for Framer Website Localization
Hunter, a prolific video host, recently showed off ‘AI Style’ – a standout addition to Framer’s localization adventurer. This introduces an AI-powered tool for granular web content translation control, enhancing website localization
Framer’s AI Style in Action
Hunter illustrated the use of AI Style with a hypothetical band preparing for its first tour in the Netherlands. The demo starts with the localization table in the local options where the AI Style option is located. After adding a little context about the website – a band’s site seeking a casual tone, the AI Style enhanced the overall translation fluidity. Not understanding Dutch shouldn’t be a hurdle as any website can harness this AI technology, thereby offering localized experiences to its audience.
Avoiding Unwanted Translations
For scenarios where certain words or phrases need to remain in their original language, AI Style can save the day. In the demo, the AI tool translated the band name ‘Cottonwood’ which is a type of tree. By just mentioning ‘never translate the word Cottonwood’ within the AI Style, Framer easily fixed the potentially disruptive translation glitch. This feature allows users to customize their AI translations to suit their specific needs.
Translating Website Components
AI Style’s versatility extends beyond just web content. This is evident when Hunter successfully translated site settings and the navigation component. Accommodating community feedback, the tool also includes individual CMS items in the filter list, amplifying its diverse translation capabilities. The AI Style effectively translated the navigation component leaving ‘Cottonwood’ untouched in the process.
Dutch Website Preview
Once the translation process was complete, Hunter confirmed the quality of the Dutch version using the local picker. The demonstration of AI Style serves to show that we can have total control over our website translations, regardless of desired language.
Automatic Local
Making sure viewers see the website in their native language has just been made simpler with the Automatic Local feature found in the general section under site settings. After enabling Automatic Local and publishing the site, users will be shown the version of the website that matches their browser’s preferred language. Hunter emphasized, “If a visitor manually chooses a language with the local picker, the site will remember that so they always get the experience they prefer”.
Unleashing the Power of AI Style
With this impressive release, Framer is making AI technology accessible, transforming website localization as we know it. This allows developers to overcome language barriers, improving accessibility and usability across various markets. This AI-powered advancement in website localization is worth exploring in your next Framer Remix project.
